Field Mouse, Helicopter (Deerhunter cover)
Well this isn’t topping anything Bradford Cox can do (the man is a genius) but it’s a pretty stellar cover of one of the best tracks from one of the best albums Halcyon Digest of 2010. If you love the original as much as I do I highly recommend checking this beautiful version out!
I just started listening to Field Mouse and I love the music they’re making. Now this cover, it just makes me like them a bunch more. Hoping for more goodness from the band!
Atlas Sound - Parallax
Again, how did I miss the news about Bradford Cox making a solo project?! I’ve always like how the sound of Deerhunter’s music. This album is a must.

Deerhunter — Nosebleed
Nosebleed is the b-side to Deerhunter’s Memory Boy single, which is out now on 4AD. In contrast to the featherweight jangle pop of the Halcyon Digest cut, it’s a rough and ragged slice of garage rock that echoes the work of friend/collaborator Jay Reatard.
I thought it was just me misreading the name of the band, but this was purposefully more upbeat and rockin’ than most of their songs, and not the least disappointing.
