The National - About Today (Warrior movie version)
Listening to this song will never be the same again after Warrior’s ending scene. Tom Hardy & Joel Edgerton’s acting and the whole story itself broke my heart to pieces.

Arcade Fire - Abraham’s Daughter
I saw The Hunger Games today and I love it, even more than the book, to be honest. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but it’s true for me. I mean I like the book, no offense. But I’m not a big fan of Katniss’ narration. She’s a strong female character, but in the book, since she does the narration, she also seems a bit whiny, but not in the move. Also, we get to see the story from a perspective that’s a bit different. That’s why I love the scenes with the Seneca’s team, the gamemakers techs. I also love Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson’s acting.

The Jezabels - Easy To Love
Powerful voice, great music, also heard on last episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I can’t get enough of this song.

Carey Mulligan - New York, New York
I’ve become a bit obsessed with this version of “New York, New York” since I saw Shame. Carey Mulligan played the character absolutely perfectly, and this performance is one of the most emotionally charged in the film. But even as a song, it’s haunting, and I think it’s in the unexpected sparse arrangement, of a song usually sung with so much gusto, conviction, a celebration of all the possibilities of the city.
Whereas, this version, the slow, stripped piano, full of pauses and hesitation, verging always on desperation…maybe New York was always supposed to be sad. The New York of empty sidewalks and gray skies, the desperate longing for an escape to somewhere that exists so often as the city of dreams, but the dreams so often broken. A solitary, fragile wish, pushed to its limits, even if the limits bring a tattered destruction.
I haven’t heard anything as sad and beautiful in a long while.
Simple Desire - All Mankind
Heard on Gossip Girl episode 5x09. It’s really good!

Cider Sky - Northern Lights
I have unlimited negative thoughts about the whole Twilight franchise (books and movies) with the exception of its movie soundtracks. Once again, Alexandra Patsavas produced a great soundtrack to accompany a (in my opinion) horrible movie. It’s sweet and romantic in just the right amount. Even Bruno Mars’ track is bearable.

Fool’s Gold - Surprise Hotel
Another song featured on the movie Like Crazy. This one can be heard on the background during the scene when Jacob and Anna were dancing in the hotel. Again, cute scene for such a cute couple. Plus, Felicity Jones (Anna) looked so pretty in this scene.
