Cults - The Curse

I found myself humming this song unconsciously a couple of mornings ago. It’s such a good song with a sort of mysterious and dark tone to it. Cults’ debut album is one of my favourite albums of this year.

handclapmovement:

Cults have just put out a video for the wonderful, “Abducted”.  The high production quality of the clip must owe thanks to the money the band can now get because of the major label signing. It’s a kind of a video that doesn’t fit the band’s usually upbeat tone. It’s pretty depressing actually. A couple continually puts each other in the trunk of the car for some mysterious reason.

The debut album drops May 31st.

Cults - Abducted

Because the one I posted earlier was taken down, so I’m putting it up again. Why I insist on having this on my blog? Because this track is amazing. Listen to it yourself.

Cults - You Know What I Mean

I try so hard to be happy
Cause something goes on once again
Please, please come and save me
Tell me what’s wrong with my brain
Cause I seem to have lost it.

Cause I am afraid of the light
Yeah, you know what I mean.
And I can’t sleep alone at night,
Yeah, you know what I mean.

The music blogosphere is buzzing about Cults. The indie, dream pop band that broke the scene with a delightful track titled Go Outside is now back with this slow, mellow dramatic song.

CULTS - Go Outside

The New York duo seems to be more of an Internet phenomenon for the time being, but did release their first EP last December with Forest Family Records. Although just starting out, the three songs released so far impressively balance between sweet 60’s inspired pop and a silver lining of dark deepness. Check out all songs at bandcamp, especially The Curse.

It’s really impossible not to get this song stuck in your head for days.
